About me
VICKI DOBBS BECK is a veteran entertainment executive with more than 30 years of experience driving innovation and digital transformation in support of storytelling. In 2015, she co-founded Lucasfilm’s award-winning Immersive Storytelling Studio, ILMxLAB (now ILM Immersive), and has since been at the helm. Using technologies like virtual, augmented and mixed reality, ILM Immersive aspires to create connected, cross-platform experiences that transform places, spaces and our daily lives as we transition from story-telling, one way communication, to this much bigger idea of story-living where you’re in a world, making meaningful choices that drive the narrative forward.
Under Vicki’s leadership, ILM Immersive has produced a robust portfolio of groundbreaking experiences including CARNE y ARENA, directed by Alejandro Iñárritu and awarded a special Oscar by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences; Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series, winner of the PGA Innovation Award in 2020; and most recently, the Emmy award-winning “What If…? An Immersive Story” with Marvel Studios, the first-ever interactive Disney+ Original story for Apple Vision Pro.
Vicki was recently inducted into Constellation’s AX100 2024 – “Top 100 Global Trailblazers Leading the Evolution of Employee and Customer Experience Across Every Industry.” Variety named her a “Digital Innovator to Watch in 2020”, and in 2019, the Advanced Imaging Society recognized Vicki with a Distinguished Leadership Award for being a significant “entertainment industry growth catalyst.”
Vicki is on the Executive Committee of the Television Academy’s Emerging Media Peer Group; a member of the Producers Guild of America; and a BAFTA Associate Member. She received her MBA from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business where she also completed her undergraduate studies, earning a BA with distinction in International Relations.
