About me
Stephen Beres is an Emmy Award-winning producer and technologist, currently serving as Senior Vice President of Global Production Services for Warner Bros. Discovery. In this role, he oversees production services for WB TV, WB Films, WB Animation, New Line Features, Magnolia Network, MAX, and HBO. His credits include iconic shows like Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, Westworld, Succession, True Detective, The Newsroom, True Blood, From the Earth to the Moon, The Last of Us, and Sesame Street.
Before joining Warner Bros. Discovery, Stephen worked at FotoKem Inc., where he was instrumental in the development of the HPA Award-winning nextLAB project. Prior to that, he co-founded and served as Chief Technical Officer for PlasterCITY Digital Post (PCDP), a leading post-production company known for innovation in feature films, commercials, music videos, and non-fiction programming. As the architect of PCDP’s nonlinear editing facility—built around Apple Final Cut Pro and central storage—Stephen was a pioneer in creating the industry’s first 4Gb SAN solution, utilizing Apple Xsan technology.
Stephen’s exceptional work on Westworld VR earned him a Television Academy Emmy Award. He also produced HBO’s acclaimed Camera Assessment Series (CAS) documentary series for over a decade, which was honored with the Advanced Imaging Society (AIS) Lumiere Award for Distinguished Achievement in Education. His expertise has made him a sought-after speaker at prominent industry events like the International Broadcasters Convention (IBC), the Advanced Imaging Society (AIS), the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), and the Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers (SMPTE), where he has served as a board member and Governor for the Hollywood region. Stephen has also been featured at non-industry events, including the Land Rover Leadership Summit. Additionally, he is an associate member of the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC).
In 2021, Stephen launched The Underpowered Hour, a Land Rover-centric podcast, which quickly became one of the top podcasts in its niche. It continues as a weekly show, complemented by a website, social media, and a YouTube channel. Alongside his co-host Ike Goss, Stephen is regularly invited as a presenter and special guest at Land Rover events worldwide.
Stephen is a proud graduate of Full Sail University and was inducted into its Hall of Fame in 2016. He frequently returns to campus to mentor the next generation of media industry leaders. When he's not busy producing television shows, Stephen can be found in his workshop restoring vintage Land Rovers, often with the help of his brilliant and precocious daughter.
