About me
Chad Evans serves as Senior Vice President, Head of Product, DTC Products, Technology & Operations for the NBA. In this role, Evans oversees the group responsible for integrating advanced technological features that elevate the NBA’s owned and operated properties, including the NBA App, NBA.com and NBA League Pass as well as the NBA ID global membership program.
Upon joining the NBA in 2020, Evans helped launch the NBA’s Next Gen integrated technology platform, which was designed to power the new NBA App across mobile, web and connected television platforms and support the direct-to-consumer in-market subscription streaming service for teams such as Clippers, Suns, Jazz and Lakers. Additionally, Evans and his team have developed product and feature enhancements for NBA League Pass – the league’s premium live game subscription service – with a focus on lower latency, higher quality and fan interactivity. Under his leadership, the league developed a native NBA App for the new Apple Vision Pro spatial computing device. Evans also played an integral role in the league’s AI fan engagement efforts, introducing new features to create a more immersive user experience on NBA platforms.
Previously, Evans held several roles with Major League Baseball (MLB) and MLB Advanced Media (MLBAM) over the course of 18 years, including Senior Front-End Engineer and Senior Vice President of Product Development and User Experience. Evans led the creation of MLB’s Mobile team and award-winning experiences in live game streaming and venue experience.
Before joining MLBAM, Evans worked for the digital consultancy Viant, where in collaboration with Sony Pictures Digital Entertainment, his team launched Movielink, the first company to offer legally downloadable movies from major studios.
Evans holds a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and BSE in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
